Events

You can choose which events you would like to store in GhostSurf's log file in the "Event logging" box. The first item, "internal status messages," applies only to events within GhostSurf; if this is checked, the log will give you a better idea of what GhostSurf is doing.

"Outgoing information" is the set of packets sent by your browser to the Internet, though GhostSurf. When this is checked, you can see what your browser sends and also what is actually allowed to pass through to the Internet, if the appropriate buttons are checked. If you are in multi-user mode, these settings do not apply--you cannot see what passes through GhostSurf because you would be able to see where other users are surfing.

Log file

You can change the name of GhostSurf's log file by entering a new name in the box. You cannot enter a path (e.g. C:\log) or an extension (e.g. log.doc); the log file is always stored in GhostSurf's folder with the txt extension. The "Clear the log" button clears the log file, and the "View..." button will open the log in a new window. If there is no log file, an error message will appear.

Management

You can use the "management" section to control the size of GhostSurf's logfile. Selecting the "Delete the log file every" button and entering a number (in days) the box below will induce GhostSurf to remove the log, and start anew, every few days.
